Here's another Calgary hotel, located at the south end of the city off of Macleod Trail in Shawnessy. Here, you are in the center of suburbia at its finest, surrounded by pretty well every store and restaurant chain known to man. Is there anything to do down at this end of the city besides shop? No. But it makes a good location for anyone coming north from the USA to base themselves before heading further into the city. This hotel is roughly a 25 minutes drive to downtown at the very southern edge of the city. The US Border is two hours south of here. One good feature about this property is that it is located right on the LRT line near Shawnessy station - it's around a 30 minute ride into downtown using it, for $2.50.
