This is a beautiful property, all around. I've stayed here a couple of times before, and was happy to read a recent email from reader George alerting me that it's back for the BRG. This hotel is just minutes from Orlando International, served by a frequent (and free!) shuttle. Wingate by Wyndhams are, in my opinion, the best chain in the Wyndham family (yes, even including Wyndham Hotels and Resorts!). Wingates operate on an "all-inclusive" basis, featuring more free amenities than you can shake a stick at, including but not limited to: free internet, free hot breakfast (think eggs and sausage), free long distance calling, and most feature swimming pools (like this one does).

Inauguration Day sees the crappiest of hotels asking upwards of $500 per night for the privilege of being in town to see the President-Elect become the President. Here, you are in the center of suburbia at its finest, surrounded by pretty well every store and restaurant chain known to man. Is there anything to do down at this end of the city besides shop? No. But it makes a good location for anyone coming north from the USA to base themselves before heading further into the city. This hotel is roughly a 25 minutes drive to downtown at the very southern edge of the city. The US Border is two hours south of here. One good feature about this property is that it is located right on the LRT line near Shawnessy station - it's around a 30 minute ride into downtown using it, for $2.50.

This is also a great base for exploring other Hampton Roads locations, such as Colonial Williamsburg, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, and the sights of downtown Norfolk. This one looks available well into the summer months.

Note that the only BRGable room here is a Handicapped room type. Please call ahead and tell them you can take a regular room if you don't require handicapped amenities. Most hotels will gladly change the room type for you.

Here's a Phoenix Super 8 Motel which we've never posted on the blog before. This one looks to be somewhat better than the Phoenix Downtown Super 8, previously featured on our site. While Tripadvisor reviews are mixed, it generally appears to be an "average" property or better! ... one you can easily deal with! The location is literally right off I-17. Nearby the property are the Downtown Glendale golf courses, Luke Air Force Base, restaurants, and much more.

This BRG is no stranger to the blog, having appeared several times before. It refuses to die. I've stayed here myself a couple of times, and found it to be as good as any Wingate property - excellent. It would be hard to be disappointed here. The hotel is located in a busy shopping area just a few miles east of Interstate 64. It's technically in Virginia Beach, but don't let that mislead you - this property is around 20 miles from downtown and the beach. It's much more suited to be thought of as a Norfolk hotel than a Virginia Beach hotel. The Norfolk Airport is just 4 miles away, served by fast and free airport shuttle.
