Here's a nice Ramada Limited in the northeast suburbs of San Diego. It's available as a BRG once again with different competitor sites showing the lower rate.
I've stayed here before and found it to be a pretty nice place. Some of the negative Tripadvisor reviews baffle me. You'd have to judge this hotel for yourself! It's location is in a nice, safe neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance.
